It seems like there is one question that no one wants to answer on this subject. I am not sure why but I have looked on the internet to see what information people were offering but there really was nothing. Since this was true I decided to answer the question “How much of my auto accident settlement will a car accident attorney take?”
Option Number One – Hourly Rate
Before you hire an attorney you can decide that you want to pay that at an hourly rate for their time. Sometimes these rates are pretty high and you may not even get your settlement. This is why I suggest trying to find an attorney that will operate on a no win no fee basis. Most of the time if an attorney offers to work with you on an hourly basis that means that your case is weak.
Option Number Two – No Win No Fee
This is the most popular way that people use a car accident attorney. The reason for this is because if you do not get paid the attorney does not get paid either. This will make sure that the attorney works are hard as possible to get the most money out of the case. Most people who use an attorney get at least 3 times more money in their settlement and I have seen some negligence cases take away over a million dollars – this is usually if it was a company or the state that was at fault.
So How Much Money Are They Going To Take?
When it comes down to it the most common going rate is 1/3 of winnings. I understand that 1/3 of the winnings might sound a little high. This is not always the case and you can speak to an attorney and ask them if they can give you a better deal but whatever the case you will have to give the attorney a decent amount of money. The amount of money that you gained using their services will offset any costs that you incur 90% of the time however.
